Israel among countries with shortest paid vacations: ranking

According to data on the number of paid vacation days, Israel ranks among the lowest in the ranking of countries that offer their employees a minimum number of vacation days.

World of Statistics writes about this.

In Israel, this figure is just 12 days a year with a five-day work week. This puts the country on par with Mexico, Turkey and Indonesia. At the same time, countries such as Andorra, Algeria, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates offer their citizens up to 30 days of paid vacation.

The leader in the number of vacation days is France, where, depending on the contract, employees can have from 25 to 37 days of paid vacation. In Russia, the figure also varies: from 20 to 37 days. In European countries such as Austria, Denmark, Finland and Norway, the minimum number of vacation days is 25 days. This is a significant contrast to Israel, which offers half that amount.

In some countries, the number of vacation days is 20, such as in Germany, Belgium, Italy and the United Kingdom. On the other hand, in some countries, such as Argentina and Bangladesh, the number of paid vacation days is even lower – only 10. In the United States, as you know, legal regulations do not provide for paid vacation at all, and this depends solely on the company’s policy.

The data show significant differences in the number of paid vacation days between countries. Israel, despite its high level of economic development, is still far behind many European and Middle Eastern countries in this indicator.

At the same time, it should be noted that the classification includes minimum work leave agreements established by law. Companies can offer their own options regarding vacations.
