He President of the Government of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, participate from this Monday, November 18, and until next Wednesday at Climate Summit (COP 29) which is being held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, under the auspices of United Nations (UN).
Dark will participate in various “high-level” meetings, focused on finding solutions for the climate changeand in particular in areas such as drought or population health”, as reported by the Council in a note.
Thus, this Monday, the president will participate in a meeting with representatives of the International Desalination Associationan entity that promotes research and development in this field, and to which it will present the progress and future projects of Andalusia regarding desalination.
Later he will meet the Spanish group for green growth, including large companies like Acciona, BBVA, Caixabank, Endesa, Ferrovial or Telefónica.
Tuesday, Dark will intervene, in his capacity as vice-president of the Committee of the Regions of the European Unionduring a meeting on the role of regions in the fight against climate change, and will participate in a meeting with representatives of the Government of Hungary, country which holds the current presidency of the European Commission.
He will also participate, on Wednesday, in a ministerial meeting entitled “Climate and urbanization”. The president of the Junta de Andalucía has already participated in the summits of Madrid 2019 (which replaced Santiago de Chile due to the violent altercations that occurred weeks before in that country), Glasgow 2021, Egypt 2022 and Dubai 2023.
