Canet puts final fireworks to season with victory in Barcelona

Arón Canet won, fourth of the year for himat the Barcelona Moto2 Solidarity GP. The Valencian driver dedicated the victory to his country, winning from pole position and carrying the Valencian Community flag to the finish. Furthermore, he became the driver with the most victories this year. Second was Manu González, who fought until the end but the Corbera man did not leave him a choice, and third was the rookie Diogo Moreira, who won the match against the champion of the category, Ai Ogura.

Manu González had an excellent start in which he surpassed the pole sitter Arón Canet in the straight to be first. But that wasn’t a problem for the Valencian, who had more pace than his rivals. The race was long, the straight too, and losing first place did not change the plan he had planned. Indeed, the man from Cobera wasted no time in overtaking Manu “Gas”

Arón began to impose his rhythm as soon as he took the lead and opened up space. González remained a few tenths behind the Moto2 world vice-champion, Canet did not finish escaping. But the Fantic driver maintained this advantage of just over half a second throughout the race. However, this second place gave Gresini second place in the world championship, since Fermín Aldeguer was seventh.

Canet remains first, but Manu gritted his teeth in the final laps to give chase to the Corbera pilot. However, the Valencian did not get angry and remained calm until the end. Although González caught him, the Fantic driver managed the tires very well to achieve a very emotional victory, to be able to light the fireworks in his native Valencia in honor of those affected by DANA.

Arón Canet thus closes a beautiful championship final to finish second in the Moto2 World Championship with his fourth victory. Manu achieved a good second place. He had not been on the podium since his victory in Japan, which sparked so much controversy and angered the team’s main sponsor.
