The Provincial Delegation of Almería celebrated this Sunday the Provincial Festival with a solemn ceremony during which it presented its most prestigious distinctions with the posthumous Gold Medal to José María Rossell. The president of the Provincial Council, Javier A. García, declared that “we will always increase the flag of identity and pride of Almeria because it represents the values ​​that define us as a society.

The Gérgal Astrophysics Center was an exceptional witness to this solemn and moving celebration. The Culture medal was awarded to the Antas Town Hall, and the Social Affairs medal to the National Police of Almería; of the Sport for Tasy Dmytriv and Agriculture, new in this edition, for Coexphal.

Daniel Rossell, son of José María, CEO and vice-president of the Senator Hotels & Resorts groupreceived the Medal and reviewed the life of his father who “was born in a municipality of less than 4,000 inhabitants but who spent more than two thirds of his life in the province of Almería”. In 1977 he rented the Hostal Costablanca and the restaurant Los Arcos, of which he had already spoken about his vision when he organized the first trip to fill this hostel.

“If he thought about it, no obstacle would stop him. He was never paralyzed by doubt and when he said he was going to start something, he did it with dedication and engaging motivation. He had an innate gift, he was a leader who led by example. He always told us to enjoy life work and create wealth for the environmentbut always in harmony with the family. She was one of those self-taught people like him who started from scratch. They are the ones who brought Spain back up,” explained Daniel Rossell.

The son of José María Rossell highlighted three essential things about his father. The team, from the beginning, implemented training plans because they believed in their team; quality, place the customer at the center and build their loyalty; and sustainability, eco-friendly hotels with large green spaces. These three axes may seem obvious, but more than 30 years ago, they were not.
