South Korean boy band, Bangtanboys or BTS is a boyband consisting of 7 members, namely Kim Namjoon (RM), Kim Seokjin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-hope), Park Jimin (Jimin), Kim Taehyung (V), Jeon Jungkook (Jungkook) who debuted on June 13, 2013. The boyband formed by Big Hit Entertainment is known to have beautiful songs, pleasant to listen to, have deep messages, and not a few BTS songs and albums are inspired by a book. For those of you who are confused about what to read, maybe some of the books read by BTS members can be recommendations for you.

This book teaches us to know how to speak and communicate well. Each stage will contain an extraordinary story and contains a message to become a better speaker.

2. Almonds – By Sohn Won Pyung

This book is one of the books with a psychology theme. This book tells the story of a man named Yoonjae who has alexithymia. Alexithymia is a disease in which the sufferer cannot express or feel emotions (happy, angry, sad, afraid, etc.). This story is interesting because it reveals Yoonjae’s journey as he tries hard to accept this condition while also going beyond his limitations.

3. The Alchemist – by Paulo Coelho

This book is about a boy named Santiago, he has loved reading books since he was little. Because of this hobby, he aspires to become a traveler so he can satisfy his curiosity about the world. Santiago then becomes a shepherd who travels from Spain to the desert (Egypt) to search for treasure. During the journey, he also meets many people who make him learn about the meaning of life, learn to never give up, and focus on pursuing dreams.

4. Kim Ji Yeong Born 1982 – by Cho Nam Joo

This book tells the author’s personal experience as a woman and wife who experiences social pressure and has to give up her career to take care of her household. As a result of this social pressure, Kim Ji Young suffers from depression. Previously, she was known as a career woman who worked in an office and loved her profession very much. This book contains how much social pressure is faced by someone who was born as a woman amid a patriarchal culture with gender equality issues.

5. Jung’s Map Of The Soul: An Introduction – by Murray Stein

This book contains the thoughts of Carl Gustav Jung’s psychological theory put forward by Murray Stein. In this book, there are 9 chapters. The chapters are interrelated with the basic theory of psychology according to Carl Gustav Jung. In the book, we can see how complicated it is to understand a human being. In humans, there are so many layers, that we may have felt like we don’t know ourselves.

6. Into The Magic Shop – by Dr. James R Doty

This book tells the story of Dr. James R. Doty when he was 12 years old in achieving a better life. Doty is a child from a simple and quite worrying family background. Doty as a teenager did not like his life. Until finally he went to a magic shop and met a kind woman named Ruth. At the magic shop, Doty thought he would learn something related to magic. but it turned out that fate brought him to something much more meaningful. There Doty got many tricks from Ruth which turned out to affect his future life. This book is truly enchanting the fact that a child from a simple background could become a professor of neurosurgery.

7. The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas – By Ursula K. Le Guin

This book is about a city called Omelas. Omelas is a city with a very beautiful view. Although it has no leader, its people live in peace and happiness. Omelas is a perfect city that many people dream of. But behind all that, there is something that the people of Omelas are hiding. In one corner of the city of Omelas, there is a small room that is very concerning. Inside there is a child who is in a very sad condition, hungry, in pain, and lonely. Almost all the people of Omelas know about this, but they remain silent because if they free the child and treat him well, then all the beautiful things that surround Omelas will disappear.
