A German woman has died Canary Islands during its transfer by helicopter when he was attacked by a shark 320 miles (514 kilometers) off the Canary Islands, according to Maritime Rescue. The 30-year-old woman lost her leg and was being rescued when she died of cardiopulmonary arrest.
The fatal incident occurred at 4pm (Canary Islands time), when the crew of the pleasure boat on which he was travelling received a distress message. The woman was sailing on a British catamaran in the Atlantic, more than 500 kilometers southwest of Gran Canaria.
Sea rescue The Spanish coordinated with the Moroccan Navy, which said it had no means of helping the Germans, so Spanish emergency services issued an alert to all ships in the area to provide assistance to the Germans.
A helicopter from the Air Force Search and Rescue (SAR) Service went to the scene and picked up the victim at around 8:05 p.m.
The woman died of cardiorespiratory arrest.
