This is the rescue of a minor in Álora

Throughout this difficult Tuesday in the province of Malaga, with storms and rains as the main protagonists, different rescues of isolated neighbors took place in points such as Álora and Pizarra, two areas heavily affected by the flooding of the Guadalhorce River.

In Álora, an entire family had to be rescued from their home by the Civil Guard. Thus, the image of the moment when the Civil Guard helicopter rescues a minor leaves, without a doubt, the friendliest face of a day in which more than 300 incidents were recorded in the province of Malaga.

In the video you can see how the Civil Guard gets off the helicopter with the minor in their arms until they hand her over to a family member, who melts into a hug with the little girl, who we see in shock for what has been experienced in recent hours.

During the day intense rainfall was recorded in the town of Álora, Malaga, which exceeded 150 liters per square meter in the last twelve hours in the Paredones dam, and they caused the Guadalhorce River to overflow, which resulted in the washing away of around thirty cars and the total flooding of several rural homes.

Among those affected is also Juan Manuel, a worker from Leba who, at the time of the river’s flood, was in Benalmádena for professional reasons and the current ended up sweeping away his vehicle. “When I arrived, it was too late. I cried for a long time. It destroyed everything”says the man from Alora, who regrets that DANA attacked him and his companions, since several lost their cars.

According to data from the Hidrosur network of the Junta de Andalucía, in the province of Málaga, more than 140 liters per square meter were recorded in various points, such as the Guadalteba and Conde del Guadalhorce reservoirs. In the coming hours it is expected that it will continue to rain generally in the province of Malaga.although at the beginning the risk is lighter (there is a yellow warning in Sol and Guadalhorce for rain and thunderstorms from midnight to nine in the morning).
