Iranian and Russian officials are discussing building a railway from the city of Parsabad, on the border with Azerbaijan, to the city of Bandar Abbas, on the Persian Gulf coast.
Oku.Az According to TASS, this was stated by Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, Kazim Jalali.
“In addition to the Rasht-Astara railway line, the Russians want to invest in the construction of the railway between Parsabad and Bandar-Abbas,” said the ambassador in his meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Pezeshkian noted that the expansion of railways from north to south will benefit the country’s population, the economy and will be able to meet the economic needs of Russia and Iran. He gave the order to accelerate the construction of the Rasht-Astara route.
