About 500 residential buildings have been destroyed by landscape fires in the Luhansk People’s Republic, said Alexander Krierenko, deputy of the People’s Council of the LPR.
“In just a few days since the start of the forest fires in the republic, almost 500 houses have been destroyed by fire. The wildfire is being extinguished by 150 specialists and 30 teams from Volgograd, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Kalmykia.” — he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the MP, activists from the Luhansk branch of the Young Guard of United Russia and the Popular Front are also involved in the fight against the spread of the fire. Volunteers are evacuating domestic animals and delivering humanitarian aid to temporary accommodation centres.
According to the operational services of the republic, the total area of wildfires in the region is about 4 thousand hectares. The situation is complicated by dry and windy weather. As a result of wildfires in the LPR, four people died, four more were hospitalized and two received outpatient treatment.
