The PP calls DANA victims “disrespectful” and Sánchez takes a month to explain his management

The PP affirms that it is a “lack of respect” to Congress and also “to the victims and those affected by the tragedy” of DANA who President Pedro Sánchez to appear in Congress to explain its management in Valencia, one month after the floods.

“The General Cortes will take a month to hear the president of the government speak about a tragedy which left 225 dead. This is a parliamentary anomaly and a lack of respect, not only to Congress, but also to the victims and those affected by the tragedy”, explains the Popular Parliamentary Group (GPP) in a press release published on Sunday.

Sources from Moncloa reported this Sunday that The President of the Government will appear in Congress at its own request, to report on the government’s management of DANA. According to the same sources, the executive will register this Monday the request to appear at the Congress of Deputies and, since Sánchez will travel to Brazil this week to attend G20 meetingsHis appearance is scheduled to take place in plenary session on November 27.

Given this announcement, the GPP press release indicates that Sánchez “seems because he does not have the votes necessary to prevent itand he will do it after the regional president, Carlos Mazón, the minister, Ángel Víctor Torres, and a vice president, Teresa Ribera, who will also not participate in the Congress of their own free will, but constrained by Brussels.

“We will have the opportunity to tell him during this appearance what we think of his way of handling this matter,” the press release continues.
