Israel “will undoubtedly receive its just punishment” due to the explosion of thousands of pagers in different regions of Lebanon which left thousands injured and at least nine deadThis was announced by Hezbollah in a statement in which it designated Israel as “entirely responsible” for a “criminal aggression”.
“After reviewing all the facts, current data and available information regarding the vicious attack that occurred this afternoon, we consider the Israeli enemy as fully responsible for this criminal aggression which also targeted civilians and killed several people,” they added in their statement.
For its part, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry also attributed Tuesday’s incident to a “Israeli cyber attackin which a large number of pagers exploded,” and said it was preparing a complaint in this regard to be submitted to the UN Security Council.
“This serious and deliberate Israeli escalation “Coincident with Israeli threats to extend the war to Lebanon and its uncompromising position calling for more bloodshed, destruction and sabotage,” the ministry said in a statement.
For its part, the Israeli army is assessing the situation after the explosion of hundreds of pagers of the Shiite group Hezbollah in Lebanon, but for the moment, there is no change in military directives, the Israeli armed forces said in a statement.
