Last message from the crew of the sunken bathyscaphe “Titan” revealed

One of the last messages sent by the crew of the Titan bathyscaphe before the accident said that everything was in order, CNN reported, citing data from the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

“Communication was intermittent, but about an hour into the dive, the Titan sent a message: “All is well here.” — the Coast Guard said.

After this, another text message was sent, which said that the submarine dropped two weights: “Two weights were dropped.” At that time, the ship was at a depth of 3,346 meters, six seconds after receiving it, the mother ship Polar Prince lost contact with the device.

Also at the hearing on the Titan accident, photographs of the wreckage discovered after the bathyscaphe crashed were presented for the first time. The images were taken by Pelagic Research Services.

The photograph shows the tail section of the bathyscaphe resting on the bottom. Nearby is a fragment of a difficult-to-identify ship. The remains were discovered several hundred metres from the Titanic that sank 112 years ago.

As reported EADailyThe deep-sea submersible Titan, owned by a private marine exploration company, crashed on June 18 while diving to a depth of several thousand meters with five people on board as it approached the wreck of the Titanic. They searched for the Titan for several days in the hope that its passengers could be rescued safely. However, all five people died as a result of the disaster.

Fragments of the structure were later brought to the surface, along with the presumed remains of the crew members.
