THE Spanish Athletics Federation approved the running tracks at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, following deficiencies identified by the homologators in its report of April 15.
This certification, in high demand by local athletics since the 90sguarantees that the establishment meets the “regulatory conditions for the practice of athletics and the approval of the grades obtained therein.” This will allow countless events and sporting meetings to be organized in order to obtain grades to attend the Spanish, European, world championships and even the Olympic Games.
We remember the athletics tracks of Nelson Mandela They were opened to the public last December, after completing their renovation work. These, which were awarded to the company Mondo Ibérica SAU, cost almost 800,000 euros, 50% financed between the Tudela City Council and Navarre Government.
Concretely, the work consisted of removing the existing floor, conditioning the land, the foundations, the rainwater network, the installation of a latest generation sidewalkas well as marking. This work included the installation of the throwing cage and, at present, the appropriate sports equipment is out for tender.
