Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon lost an eye in a pager explosion

As a result of the explosion of the personal pager of the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, he lost one eye and the other was seriously injured.

Oku.AzAccording to information provided by the New York Times newspaper, referring to members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (SEPAH).

Amani’s injuries are reported to be more serious than previously reported and he will be transferred to Tehran for treatment.

The newspaper reports that a video circulating on social media shows Amani on the street in Lebanon after the attack with blood on his shirt.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hadas news channel reported yesterday, referring to the Tehran embassy in Beirut, that Amani’s general condition is good and that his injuries are only superficial.

It should be recalled that on September 17, massive pager explosions occurred across Lebanon, including in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The communication devices that exploded belonged to members of the Hezbollah movement. According to the latest information, at least 11 people were killed and more than 4,000 injured as a result of the explosions, including the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani. The Israeli special services are suspected of what happened.
