“The Baku Initiative on Human Development for Climate Resilience requires a multifaceted approach at the global level.”
Oku.Az This was stated by the main interlocutor of COP29, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, at the joint meeting on the “Baku Initiative on Human Development for Climate Sustainability”, organized within the framework of the event.
He noted that this initiative is a natural expression of our commitment to human-oriented climate action, which requires a multifaceted and comprehensive approach that strengthens global cooperation between sectors, mobilizes investments and ensures that human development is the main pillar of our climate strategy:
“At the heart of the Baku Initiative is the belief that human development and climate action are not separate goals but mutually reinforcing. It is equal access to education and vocational training for all, with a focus on closing the gap opportunities and supporting women’s participation in the emerging green economy encompasses issues such as service delivery.
The Deputy Minister added that the initiative is based on the idea that education, employment and skills are not just support systems, but fundamental drivers of climate action both to mitigate climate change and to adapt to its inevitable impacts.
