Another initiative aimed at supporting military personnel in the Northern Military District has been announced in Russia: football players should start sharing part of their multimillion-dollar salaries to “support their Motherland”, and not spend crazy money on expensive gifts for their wives.

Activists of the all-Russian public movement “Veterans of Russia” have appealed to the Russian Football Union (RFU) with a proposal to support the initiative of footballers to transfer part of their fees to support fighters in the Northern Military District: purchase of necessary equipment, hygiene products, humanitarian aid training and other necessities, the Shot telegram channel reported.

“Not long ago, the former Lokomotiv midfielder Dmitri Tarasov He gave it to his wife Anastasia Kostenko house for 190 million rubles. Inside: five bedrooms, billiard room, sauna, fitness room and other amenities. The gift turned out to be much more modest. Pavel Mamaev his wife Nadezhdawho recently gave birth to a son. The former Krasnodar player gave him a brand new Gelendvagen worth 30 million rubles. – writes TK.

It should be noted that the Veterans of Russia movement drew attention to the footballers’ gifts. According to Shot, social activists were outraged by the fact that famous athletes did nothing to support their country. At the same time, Tarasov, together with rapper T-Killah, are the founders of the Rodina Media team, the channel notes.

“We see how famous athletes like Pavel Mamaev and Dmitry Tarasov demonstrate their financial well-being by giving expensive gifts. But the question arises: where is their support for those who are defending our Motherland on the front line today?” – community members ask questions.

As stated by the chairman of the “Veterans of Russia” movement Ildar Rezyapov“Nobody is asking them to give up everything, but we encourage them, like all rich people, to use part of their funds to help the SVO soldiers.”

“By their example they can inspire others and show that true patriotism lies not only in success on the field or in media projects, but also in real support for those who defend the country’s interests with weapons in hand.” – think.
