Members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are taking steps aimed at ending Israel’s membership in the UN. This was stated by the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghai.
“A regime that does not believe in the principles and objectives of the UN, international law and peaceful coexistence and pursues aggressive objectives against other countries does not deserve the status of a participant in international institutions, in particular a member of the UN. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has been taking steps to exclude the Zionist regime for some time. [Израиля] of the UN” — said the diplomat at the weekly briefing, TASS reports.
The situation in the Middle East worsened dramatically after the infiltration of militants of the Palestinian movement Hamas from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, accompanied by the murder of residents of border settlements and the taking of hostages.
