Heavy rains in Lankaran in recent days have caused flooding in Veravulchay.
APA reports that due to the flooding, a dangerous situation has been created for the houses of about 10 families in the region’s Vilvan village, and the floods have caused considerable damage to the homes of the residents.
As a result of the natural disaster, fruit orchards and greenhouses were flooded and in some places the ground was washed away.
Regarding the situation in the area, the Lankaran District Water Reclamation Department inspected the backyards. The current situation was reviewed and heavy equipment was brought to the area. Ayyg Aliyev, a specialist at the department, said that last year the department also carried out works to change the course of the river, but heavy rains damaged the works.
It should be noted that to this day a 2,800-meter-long concrete protection wall has been built on the right and left banks of the Veravulchay, passing through the towns of Vilván and Veravul.
