The head of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, is confident that the country’s existing copper reserves will last for the next 90 years or even longer. According to the minister, only the five largest domestic copper deposits have reserves of 62.2 million tons, TASS reported today, September 18.
EADaily The Russian copper deposits are Udokanskoye in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Oktyabrskoye and Talnakhskoye in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Malmyzskoye in the Khabarovsk Territory, and the Chukotka Peschanki mine.
“Overall, the country’s copper supply at the current production level is more than 90 years,” – Kozlov said.
The Russian minister is confident that our country has a very strong copper raw material base. The reserves of this resource, according to current data from the Ministry of Natural Resources, amount to 102.1 million tons. In terms of copper reserves, Russia ranks second after Peru and Chile.
