Immigration goes from ninth to first problem for Spaniards in just three months, according to the CEI

Immigration has become the main problem for Spaniards, surpassing unemployment, according to the latest barometer of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) published this Wednesday.

In just three months, the immigration It has gone from being the ninth Spanish concern to the first. The total number of those who identify it as the first, second or third problem in the survey has increased in the meantime, from the 11.2% recorded in the June barometer to 30.4% in the September one.

The survey, prepared from 4,027 interviews September 2-6However, the study shows that immigration falls to fifth place when asked which problem “personally” affects them the most. Main problems

The podium of the main problems existing for the Spanish is completed by political problems in general (20.6%) and unemployment (20.1%).

Both were also present in the latest barometer, published in July. Unemployment worries 26.5%, followed by political problems (20.7%) and the economic crisis (19.8%).

96.6% of Spaniards believe that there are “many inequalities between poor and rich countries”. 87.3% believe that this is one of the causes of the increase in immigration and 72.2% believe that Spain should make more efforts to help these regions develop.

Regarding existing conflicts, 25% of respondents are “very worried” about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, while 43.2% say they are “somewhat” and 16.1% “rather worried”. On the contrary, 13.7% say they are not very or not at all worried.

Regarding the war in Middle East29.6% are very worried, compared to 38.2% and 16% respectively who are rather or fairly worried. At the other extreme, 13.8% of respondents say they are not very or not at all worried.
