Vox proposed to carry out dental tests for immigrants arriving in the Balearic Islands in order to identify if they are minors and proposes it as a counterpoint to the approval of regional budgets for 2025. Indeed, current bone studies “have a margin of error of five years”.
This was explained by Vox spokesperson in the Balearic Parliament, Manuela Cañadas, during a press conference this Monday morning. Cañadas said the PP was ready to accept this condition of approval of budgets: “In this case I can confirm that yes, but there are other measures,” he stressed.
Negotiations are still ongoing between PP and Vox
The Green Party demanded that the government “stop looking the other way” and “use all available resources to end this lack of control”. The Vox spokesperson stressed that the proposed measure falls within the competence of the Regional Executive.
On the other hand, Cañadas pointed out that some political parties have changed the situation on immigration “when they saw that they were losing votes», in reference to the PSOE and the PP. Likewise, he stressed that the Government has changed its discourse and that “it is no longer the appeal effect”.
Regarding the negotiations for the approval of the budgets, the spokesperson assured that her party has not resigned from the linguistic freedom office and that the negotiations are continuing.
He finally concludes that the “popular” have understood in recent months that they do not have an absolute majority and that Vox’s votes are necessary. “We are already seeing a change in discourse on the issue of immigration and we are negotiating other types of measures in different areas and of course we don’t give up anything when it comes to language and education“.
