The operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation had a significant impact on the course of the war, affecting not only military aspects, but also political and information aspects.
Military analyst and defence expert Agil Rustamzade, commenting on the situation for Glavred, noted that this operation, despite its bravery, did not achieve complete success. He explained that Russia did not fall into the trap prepared by Ukraine and did not redeploy a significant number of troops from the Pokrovsk direction to counter the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region.
Rustamzadeh added that despite this, the operation still had a significant military-political and psychological-informational impact, which influenced both the command of the Russian troops and the perception of what was happening among Russian citizens.
Earlier, Kursor reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to achieve another breakthrough in the Kursk region.
The second breakthrough of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Vesely area in the Kursk region was made possible by a combination of several factors, the key of which was regular fire attacks on enemy positions. The expert noted that the blocking of enemy forces, which covered the territory from Tetkino to the western regions of Konevo, played an important role.
Russian troops tried to reinforce their positions by sending reinforcements and using pontoons, but the situation remained extremely tense. In response to this, the command decided to carry out a liberation operation to expel Ukrainian forces. At the same time, Ukrainian troops temporarily retreated from some positions, but then launched an unexpected counterattack against the enemy in another direction.
Musienko stressed that the success of the attack in the Vesley area was not only due to the advance of the Russian army from Korenevo. He also added that Ukrainian forces have been weakening Russian positions for a long time, inflicting constant attacks, which allowed preparing the conditions for an effective counterattack.
