BTS V and Jungkook sue YouTuber for Damages

The members of the famous South Korean K-pop group BTS, V and Jungkook, have proceeded to file a lawsuit against a famous YouTuber for damages. The two superstars now join the lawsuits previously filed by WonYoung, of the group IVE, and Kang Daniel, who allege the same allegations against the content creator.

Today it has been confirmed that Taehyung and Jungkook, along with their agency Big Hit Music (HYBE), have initiated legal action against the YouTuber known as Sojang and her YouTube channel Taldeok Camp, for damages.

On August 16, Star News reported that the two members had sued Park Sojang, seeking damages worth about 90 million KRW (equivalent to about $66,000). The 12th Civil Division of the Western District Court in Seoul, South Korea, will hold the first trial on August 23, five months after the first lawsuit was filed.

Previously, Big Hit explicitly mentioned Sojang’s YouTube channel, stating that they had filed a complaint against the creator for defamation and obstruction of business. According to the agency, the investigation was suspended at that time, but they collected and provided additional information about Park from her and turned it over to authorities, leading to the reopening of the case.

The agency has also filed the lawsuit on behalf of the two BTS members, who had already warned that they would take legal action against the content creator.

V came across some of the videos recently uploaded by the YouTuber through the Weverse platform, and when a netizen posted a screenshot related to Sojang’s video where everyone, including BTS members, could see it, he said:

“Oh? I’m going to file a complaint about this. You’ll have to pay for the snacks. You’re messing with my family and friends.”

And now, together with his partner Jungkook, the idol has formalized his warning with this lawsuit against Sojang, who extends her long list of legal problems after his highly criticized behavior biased by harassment.
