Franco Colapinto He arrived in Formula 1 thanks to Williams and shows that he deserves a place. A young driver who hallucinates when he races with drivers who were already fighting on the grid when he was a child like Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton. He describes it simply as a “shock”.
“I saw Alonso racing against Hamilton, fighting for championships and all that.and, suddenly, I run against him, it’s a shock, but when you lower the helmet visor, everyone is the same,” the Argentinian said during a publicity event over drinks.
“I grew up very quickly, and this age thing has left me, I feel like I’m not twenty years old. It’s strange to compete with the drivers I’ve seen, Fernando Alonso is twice my ageso it’s like I’ve seen them since I was little, when I was eight or nine years old,” explains the Williams driver.
He realizes a dream, that of accessing F1. And he’s still looking for a seat for 2025. “Every driver’s dream is to reach Formula 1, and that’s why I’ve worked so long. I have other dreams, but, When you arrive, you already want more, I arrived and I wanted to score points, what’s the next step, to make a podium?”, says Franco.
And aspires to everything. In the future, have a car to win: “When I entered Formula 1, I said my dream was to score points, but now I want more. In the future, my dream is to win in Formula 1, but the first thing is to get a podium, in a few years, then win a race and be world champion.
“Dreams rise, they appear quickly,” says Colapinto, who always waits for the opportunity to Racing Bulls… or even Red Bull.
