3,074 babies between January and July, 11.6% fewer than five years ago

The birth rate continues to decline in Córdoba. This is reflected in the monthly estimate of births of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), published this Wednesday, which shows that a total of 3,074 boys and girls were born in Córdoba in the first seven months of 2024, 36 fewer (-1.16%) than in the same period of 2023, and 404 fewer than in the same months of 2019, five years ago, which represents a decrease of 11.6%.

The number of births accumulated between January and July reinforces the downward trend of the last financial years. Thus, 3,110 births were recorded in 2023; 3,199 in 2022; 3,318 in 2021; 3,424 during the first seven months of 2020; and 3,478 during the same period of 2019.
