Confession of those who wanted to overthrow the government in Belarus: “We were going to shoot down Lukashenko’s helicopter”

Conspirators seeking to overthrow the government of Belarus planned to shoot down the helicopter of the country’s president, Alexander Lukashenko.

Oku.AzAccording to Lenta.ru, one of the defendants in the case, Yuri Zenkovich, confessed to his criminal intentions.

“We were preparing to fire a large-calibre machine gun at the head of state’s helicopter, either during take-off or landing,” Zenkovic said.

It should be noted that in 2022, Yuri Zenkovich was found guilty of attempting to seize power in Belarus and sentenced to 11 years in prison. He is serving his sentence in a penal colony.
