Xiaomi has become the world’s second-largest smartphone brand, surpassing Apple in August this year.

Xiaomi’s smartphone sales remained stable in August 2024, while Apple’s experienced a seasonal decline during the same period. From 2022 to the first half of 2023, Xiaomi mobile phones faced supply chain difficulties (the same problem faced by other manufacturers), but the company adjusted its product, sales, and distribution channel strategy, leading to the above-mentioned result.
According to Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi has emerged as one of the fastest-growing brands in the first half of 2024, with sales up 22% year-on-year. Growth may slow down in the second half of the year, but Xiaomi is expected to achieve strong double-digit growth through 2024.
“The company has focused on creating a flagship model in each price range to successfully enter the high-end market, and has also launched competitively priced 5G devices that have achieved significant sales in India, Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other countries,” said Tarun Pathak, research director at Counterpoint.
