Azerbaijani men’s and women’s teams will face Italian teams at the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Oku.Az reports that the matches will coincide with the 8th round.
The men’s team ranked 14th with 10 points. Leader India has 14 points, second-placed Iran has 13 points and Uzbekistan has 12 points.
Women are ranked 19th with 10 points. India leads with 14 points. Poland and Kazakhstan have 12 points.
It should be noted that our chess players previously defeated and lost Montenegro (3:1), Jordan (3.5:0.5), Finland (3.5:0.5), Moldova (3:1), Kazakhstan (3:1), India (1:3) and Lithuania (1.5:2.5).
Our women’s team beat Slovenia (3-1), Nicaragua (4-0), Australia (3-1) and Vietnam (2.5-1.5), tied with Argentina and Ukraine 2-2 and lost to Kazakhstan 1-3.
