Pons accuses the government of being “complicit in the coup” in Venezuela and the PSOE demands his resignation

The Deputy Secretary for Institutional Affairs of the PP, Esteban González Pons, said on Thursday that the Spanish government is involved “as a necessary cooperator” in the “coup that occurred in Venezuela.” Following these statements, the PSOE demanded his resignation.

González Pons expressed on esRadio the “disgust”, “shame” and “indignation” that the video in which the former presidential candidate and leader of the Venezuelan opposition Edmundo González, exiled since September 8 in Spain, produced on him, a complaint that he signed under “duress” in the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Caracas a document recognizing the victory of Nicolas Maduro.

He also named former President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero as the “great conspirator” of the “operation.”
