The Parliament of Andalusia suspends the plenary session and observes a minute of silence for the death of the deputy María Díaz Cañete

The Andalusian Parliament unanimously accepted by all groups suspend the second day of the first plenary session of the new period of sessions after the death of the PP parliamentarian of Seville María Díaz Cañete at the age of 40 cancer victim and held a minute of respectful silence in his memory during which all the spokespeople presented their condolences to the Popular Group.

The agenda of the plenary session included the government control session with questions from the groups to the President of the Council, Juanma Moreno, in addition to the debate of an interpellation and four non-law proposals. All the groups unanimously supported the proposal of the Council. President of the Chamber, Jesús Aguirre (PP), to withdraw all the initiatives that were to be debated this Thursday and which will be broadcast during the next plenary sessions.

This is what Aguirre himself reported before the plenary session of the Chamber in a speech in which he regretted having “received this morning the worst possible news with the death of our colleague and friend” the representative of the PP in Seville María Díaz Cañete, “who He did his best to represent his city, Lora del Río, and to serve the citizens.“.

“He left us at 40 years old and with his whole life ahead of us. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends, as well as to all the representatives of the Popular Parliamentary Group of Seville in these difficult times,” assured Aguirre before asking the Chamber to observe a minute of silence in his memory during which several of his colleagues from the PP-A could not hold back their tears.

Then, the spokespersons of Adelante Andalucía, José Ignacio García; For Andalusia, Inma Nieto; Vox, Manuel Gavira; and the PSOE-A, Ángeles Férriz, presented their condolences to the Popular Group, whose spokesperson, Toni Martín, thanked the support of the entire House “in a very difficult moment for the people who make up the PP of Seville”.

“Mary was a very young, very kind and very dear person“very kind and who generated a lot of positive feelings around him who dedicated his life to his people, to his ideas and to improving things for the citizens of Lora, Seville and Andalusia. Thank you very much for your support and condolences in such difficult times,” added the parliamentary spokesperson of the PP-A.

Parliamentary activity this Thursday will be limited to new meetings of the Council of the House, the Council of Spokespersons and the tables of four committees.
