The artistic director of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, People’s Artist of Russia Konstantin Khabensky, has been hospitalized in Moscow, the Mash telegram channel reported.
Doctors are said to consider the actor’s condition to be moderate.
“Doctors diagnosed him with hypertension with primary damage to the heart. The probable cause is a rheumatic lesion affecting the cardiovascular system and joints, so the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation underwent a series of studies, including bone density.” – says the publication.
The Telegram channel notes that the Moscow Art Theatre has declined to comment on Khabensky’s condition; he himself is also unavailable for comment.
Khabensky’s next concert is scheduled for September 26 in Samara. It is expected to take place as part of a tour in honor of Bulat Okudzhava’s centenary.
