As explained in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic, the order to create a horse breeding institute as soon as possible was given by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his speech at the first forum of agricultural workers, held on last Friday in November. 15, in Astana.
“Today the management of the institute aims to increase the number of breeding horses by 6-7% in the next five years. Expanding the range of local horse breeds, such as Kostanay and Adai, as well as the highly productive Mugalzhar and Kushum genotypes, is becoming an important task for breeding work.” – says the department information.
To this end, it is planned to create a data bank in which information on various genetic groups of horses will be stored; seed and embryo bank; build an immune genetics laboratory with a point for artificial insemination of mares. Work will also be done on the training of specialized horse breeders.
It is reported that the establishment of a specialist equine veterinary clinic will significantly improve the level of veterinary care and contribute to improving the health and well-being of horses.
