“Frank Peloni’s statements clearly show that he did not come to Azerbaijan to participate in COP29.”
Oku.Az informs that the statement issued by the West Azerbaijan Community states:
“The corrupt and racist member of the United States Congress, Frank Peloni, during his visit to Azerbaijan to participate in COP29, is trying to misrepresent the legitimate and peaceful public protest against him and slander our country.
First of all, it should be noted that F. Peloni has been systematically working against Azerbaijan and the establishment of peace in the region for decades, establishing opaque relations with the Armenian lobby. He supported Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan, crimes against Azerbaijanis such as ethnic cleansing, genocide, mass murder, destruction of cultural heritage and carried out a policy of ethnic and religious hatred against Azerbaijanis.
For this reason, your most fundamental right is to protest against the racist F. Peloni of the Azerbaijani public, especially those who were subjected to ethnic cleansing from Armenia. However, instead of appearing before the peaceful protesters and apologizing to them and answering their questions, F. Peloni sent his bodyguards against the peaceful protesters, including women, and injured them.
F. Peloni’s statements after the visit clearly show that he did not come to Azerbaijan either to participate in the climate change conference or to engage in dialogue. Their goal was to denigrate the success of COP29, which was held in Azerbaijan and where all the countries of the world met, and to attack Azerbaijan.
Once again it must be emphasized that the State and public opinion of Azerbaijan have always been in favor of dialogue. F. Peloni and some racist politicians like him, on the contrary, have always avoided dialogue and have preferred the policy of slander and blackmail.
As the Community of West Azerbaijan, we strongly condemn the cheap spectacles of F. Peloni and the Azeriphobic tendencies that have taken root in some Western circles by his example, and demand these politicians not to hinder the establishment of peace in the region and to respect the right of return of Azerbaijanis forcibly expelled from Armenia.
