This year, more than 40,000 disability determinations have been issued in Azerbaijan.
The “Report” reports that Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev said this in response to questions raised during the discussion on next year’s budget in parliament.
According to him, half was a repetition and the other half was an opening quote:
“If it is not provided for by law, no one is assigned a disability. If someone has the right, they are also assigned a disability. Embezzlement of state funds related to more than 207,000 false disability designations has been prevented.”
S. Babayev said that over the past six years the self-employment program has increased fivefold:
“This program covers between 15,000 and 16,000 families each year. Half is financed by the Unemployment Insurance Fund and the other half by the World Bank. It is planned to involve 100,000 families in the self-employment program for next year. In addition “Apartments will be provided to 16,000 families of martyrs and seven cars will be given to more than a thousand war-disabled people.”
The minister also highlighted that last year 9 thousand participants participated and this year 15 thousand participants participated in the vocational training:
“The main objective is to attract qualified and competent people to the labor market. A large number of people who do not have the knowledge and do not meet the requirements enter the labor market and necessary measures are taken to retrain them.”
