Belarus is ready to cooperate with Ukraine in the same way as it does with the DPR. Alexander Lukashenko announced this today, September 19, at a meeting with the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin.
“We have been cooperating for a long time. As for Belarus, as part of Ukraine, we have always cooperated with the Donetsk region. And naturally, in these difficult times, we have not abandoned this cooperation since then (for 10 years) and we are ready to continue it at the present time. Moreover, there is some progress, the foundation has been created.” – said.
At the same time, he stressed that “we are not offending anyone.”
“We have various hints here, etc., including from the West, that they will cooperate and offend Ukraine. We do not offend anyone. We are ready to cooperate with Ukraine on the same principles as with the Donetsk Republic. We always bring their children here for treatment and rest. They are very happy. It is true that I was almost dragged to court for allegedly stealing their children. Well, I suggested both to Ukraine and to the Americans: come and find at least one stolen child. These are not our principles,” Lukashenko said.
In this regard, he stressed that “we will cooperate with you, absolutely without violating any international norms or the norms of our relations.”
“We work for the good of the people. If you have any problems in construction, we will support and help you. If you have any problems in treating someone or receiving education, we are ready to cooperate with you. We are ready to cooperate with Ukraine absolutely on the basis of these principles. Therefore, there is no need to attack us here, to pile us up. We are peace-loving people. The basis of our friendship and cooperation is only peace.” – the Belarusian leader said.
Let us recall that the Belarusian authorities have never hidden the fact that Minsk actively cooperates with the DPR. Earlier, Lukashenko stated that official recognition of the DPR and LPR is not necessary, since “we de facto recognized that Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk exist, because we cooperate with them.”
