Visits to the Roman mausoleums of the Puerta Gallegos in Cordoba will begin next Sunday: schedule and program

Visits to the Roman mausoleums of the Puerta de Gallegos will begin next Sunday, September 1stonce the Tourism Delegation of the City Council has formalized the contract with the company Eventour Andalucía Incoming SL, for an amount of 21,175 euros for two years, as reported by the municipal government in a press release.

The Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Daniel García Ibarrola, visited the facilities accompanied by the officials of the successful bidder and indicated that the objective of the contract “is to have an external company that carries out the revitalization of tourism of the funerary world interpretation center and thus have one more tourist attraction in the city than “to increase the cultural offer to visitors and at the same time allow us to disseminate the importance of the city of Cordoba in Roman times and the funeral traditions that existed at that time.”

Visiting hours

During the month of September, visits can be made during the following time slots

-Friday: from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

-Saturday: from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

-Sunday: from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Although the Fuensanta Festival (September 8) and Tourism Day (September 27) will also remain open, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.The rest of the months, the schedules will be adapted to the three days of ordinary opening and some festivities will also be added, in addition to being able to participate in guided tours.

Visits program

The visit will begin with a general exposition of the importance of Cordoba as a Roman city and the influence of this culture on it and the role of the most illustrious characters of the city at that time will be analyzed, in addition to reflecting the history main existing Roman remains in the capital and the funeral rites of the time.

In addition, an information point will be created specifically for Roman archaeological heritage of Cordoba, where free information and advice will be provided, as well as advertising, educational and informative material provided by the City Council. This information point will remain open every day.
