After his career in Azerbaijan, Fernando Alonso showed his most optimistic face this season at the press conference preceding the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Asturian is aware of the level and position in which Aston Martin currently finds itself, but the sixth place in Baku, that “miracle”, gives him wings to dream of Marina Bay.
“I am quite optimistic. “After Baku I think it was a boost of motivation for everyone, so yeah, I’m looking forward to getting in the car,” said the two-time champion.
Of course, he acknowledges that the Silverstone team is not satisfied with this level: “We are still the seventh team in terms of performance. And we are not happy“.
“Our natural position is 13º, 14º or 15º“If we were eighth in Baku, it was a miracle. If we were tenth in Monza, it was a miracle. If we are here in the points, it will be a miracle,” concluded Alonso.
