Aena records the best summer in its history and earns 27% more, 1,450 million

The manager of national airports Aena recorded a profit of 1,449.8 million euros between January and September, which represents 27.3% more than the 1,139.1 million euros for the same period last year, according to the accounts sent by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) this Wednesday.

The company increased its profitability thanks to the good performance of travel demand during the high summer season, so that the gross operating result (Ebitda) for the first nine months amounted to 2,663.3 million euros, with a margin of 60.6%. This figure represents growth of 26% compared to 2023 (2,113.6 million).

Concerning the consolidated result, the airport operator billed in total 4,396.7 million euros, up 16.3% compared to last year. Of these, aeronautical revenues increased by 14.6% and commercial revenues by 16.6%.

The traffic of passengers of the entire Aena group, which includes Spain, London Luton Airport and airports in Brazil, rose to 282.5 million (+8.9%) in the year to date. In Spanish airports the increase was 9.8%, up to 237.8 million passengers.

The 11 airports of the so-called Block of Eleven Brazilian Airports (BOAB), managed by Aena Brasil, contributed 136.1 million euros to revenue and 74.9 million euros to Ebitda. For its part, the investment paid between January and September 2024 amounted to 623.4 million euros, and was mainly focused on improving the facilities and operational security of airports.
