Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has relaunched the trial against Begoña Gómez with up to four decisions notified in recent days. In them, he asks, among other questions, know Gomez’s salary or the statement of a new witness on a date after the decision of the Provincial Court of Madrid on the filing of the case. Precisely, this court has just rejected the appeal of the defense of the wife of the President of the Government in which it was requested to bring forward the date of the deliberation.
In concrete terms, the magistrate is summoned to testify an employee of the Business Institute next October 16. Institution whose president also testified in this case, following Gómez’s position as director of the Africa Center. Creation in turn of the IE, which aims to promote innovation, executive leadership, entrepreneurship and the development of social action projects on the African continent.
On the other hand, Peinado also requested the La Caixa Foundation and the insurance company Real to provide “as soon as possible” the files for granting the subsidy to sponsor the creation of the chair “Competitive Social Transformation” at the Complutense University. That is, the one made by Gómez.
Also “as soon as possible”, the magistrate asks two questions to the aforementioned academic institution. On the one hand, he asks for the relationship of registered students and participants in each of the editions of the chair of Gómez, while on the other hand, he asks know Gomez’s salarythat of the deputy director of the chair, as well as that of all the professors. He requests in particular “the list of sums paid, specifying the number of beneficiary current accounts”, specifies the judgment.
The Central Operational Unit (UCO) is also requested by Judge Peinado. Specifically, he questions the evolution of a report prepared by this unit of the Civil Guard on the documentation that the State Industrial Participation Company (SEPI) provided last July regarding the rescue of Air Europa. It should be noted that this request is the the second time it’s done.
The Provincial Court of Madrid also ruled, rejecting the appeal of Gómez’s defense that requested to advance the deliberations on the filing of the file requested by lawyer Antonio Camacho. To this appeal is added another plea of the same defense of the wife of the president, so that the resolution of the first one is reached before September 30, as the same court had planned.
It takes this decision considering that “the ordinary order of sending cases has been followed, according to the agenda of the indications” of the Court, “since This is not a question of preferential resolution.“.
