The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) will declare the yellow alert this Wednesday in the Balearic Islands due to the expected strong wind from the west and northwest, with maximum gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
Concretely, the alert will remain active from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the case of the largest of the Balearic Islands due to unfavorable winds and phenomena, between 4:00 p.m. and midnight in Eivissa and Formentera, where waves of 3 meters are expected with an incidence particular on promenades and exposed areas, and between 06:00 and 16:00 in the case of Menorca, with waves also of three meters, according to information from Aemet consulted by elDiario.es.
From Thursday 20, the yellow warning will be activated again from 4:00 p.m. to midnight in Mallorca and the Pitiüses – in the latter case due to winds of up to 80 km/h and until 10:00 p.m. in Menorca.
