The Government of Zaragoza has approved a 2% salary increase for its municipal employees, which will be applied in next September’s payroll retroactively to January 1, 2024.
This increase is included in the Framework Agreement for a 21st Century Administration signed in 2022 between the Spanish government and the majority unions CCOO and UGT, which establishes a multi-year framework for salary increases between 2022 and 2024.
The agreement provides for a flat rate increase of 2%. plus an additional percentage linked to the evolution of the Harmonized Price Index and the Gross Domestic ProductThe 2% increase is calculated on salaries in effect on December 31, 2023 and represents 5.2 million euros for municipal funds.
