The 147th edition of the Karabakh Chronicle program was broadcast.
The host of the program, military correspondent Fardin Isazade, spoke about the anti-terrorist measures carried out by Azerbaijan exactly one year ago, on September 19, 2023, which marked the beginning of a new stage in the geopolitical dynamics of the region.
He said that this step by official Baku was decisive in changing the balance of power in the South Caucasus:
“Most importantly, Azerbaijan not only restored the country’s territorial integrity, but also demonstrated an effective military strategy to the entire world with its local anti-terrorist measures against illegal armed groups in Karabakh. It was a demonstration of military and political will.”
It was noted that this operation merited special attention because there was a model for local, rapid and effective response to major threats:
“In the course of anti-terrorist operations, our army blocked the main supply and movement routes of illegal armed groups and attacked important military installations. In parallel, communication nodes and other possible communication systems were disabled, which prevented their spread to a larger area. This in turn was aimed at minimizing casualties among the civilian population.”
The journalist also stated that a year after the operation, Karabakh has become a peaceful and stable region:
“Large-scale programmes have been launched related to infrastructure restoration, construction of roads, residential buildings and social facilities. Azerbaijan has shown that it is working not only on territorial reintegration, but also on economic development of the region. Therefore, thanks to the plans for the creation of new transport routes, Karabakh will not only benefit Azerbaijan but can become the main link for the development of the entire South Caucasus.
In short, the anti-terrorist operation in Karabakh became an example for other countries and regions facing internal conflicts. “Azerbaijan has shown that compliance with international law, political determination and unity of modern military technology can be an effective solution for the restoration of sovereignty.”
