For the first time in Azerbaijan, September 20 is celebrated as the day of the cities of Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavend and Aghdara.
Oku.Az reports that the President in this regard Ilham Aliyev Signed the Decree amending the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 4013 of July 31, 2023 “On the establishment of urban days in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

According to the order, the following days will be solemnly celebrated as days of the cities of the liberated territories every year:
August 26 – Lachin City Day;
October 4 – Gabriel City Day;
October 17 – Fuzuli City Day;
October 20 – Zangilan City Day;
October 25 – Gubadli City Day;
November 8 – Shusha City Day;
November 20: Aghdam City Day;
November 25 – Kalbajar City Day.
