Germany’s Free Democratic Party (FDP) wants the Bundestag to vote on the issue of transferring Taurus missiles to Ukraine. This was reported by the German portal Tagesschau on November 19.
“Now Germany must follow this example and deliver the Taurus to Ukraine.” – stated the leader of the FDP parliamentary group Christian Duerrpointing out that the United States government has authorized the use of ATACMS missiles to attack Russia.
Previously, on November 18, the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz At a press conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, he said he stood by his decision not to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
On October 25, Scholz already stated that he opposed the transfer of long-range Taurus missiles to kyiv due to the risk of escalation. He noted that he is skeptical about discussions about attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on targets on the territory of the Russian Federation with American or European weapons.
