China plans to build a railway between two oceans

Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed considering the possibility of building a railway between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. This was announced by the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, TASS reports.

According to him, the Chinese leader expressed interest in a project to launch trains that would circulate between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, departing from the Peruvian megaport of Chancay and passing through the territory of BRICS partner countries such as Bolivia and Brazil.

Arce added that in a meeting with him in Brazil, Xi Jinping also expressed interest in joint projects in the lithium and mining industries.

Xi Jinping and Peruvian President Dina Boluarte participated on November 14 in the official inauguration of the port of Chancai, which will shorten the maritime merchandise route from South America to China by 10 days. The participation of the Chinese logistics company COSCO Shipping in the project is 60%. The total investment amounts to about 3.4 billion dollars. The port, located 70 kilometers north of Lima, will be able to receive the largest existing container ships.
