Brigadier General of the Army, Venancio Aguado de Diegowill occupy the Autonomous Secretariat of the Office of the Vice-Presidency for the Economic and Social Recovery of the Valencian Community, as announced by the Generalitat this Wednesday in an official press release.

Aguado de Diego, who entered the reserves in March 2020, will join the department led by army lieutenant general, Francisco José Gan Pampolsresponsible for coordinating the actions of the Consell for the reconstruction of the areas of the province of Valencia affected by the flood of October 29.

Venancio Aguado was born in 1961 and belongs to the XL Promotion of the General Military Academy, being promoted to infantry lieutenant in July 1985. He graduated from the Mountain Troops Command and served in different units of this specialty in Jaca. San Sebastian and Pamplona.

After passing the staff course and in the position of commander, he served at the headquarters of the mountain brigade. In 2005, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and assigned to the operations division of the Army General Staff, then appointed chief of staff of the mountain hunter brigade.

After passing through the General Staff of the Light Forces, he was promoted to colonel in 2012, commanding the 45th Garellano Regiment in Biscay and chief of staff of the Armed Forces Intelligence Center. In 2016, he was appointed brigadier general and took command of the “Canarias” operational brigade.

He was deployed on NATO missions in Kosovoas Chief of Operations for AGT Aragon and Afghanistan, in the Future Operations Section of the Multinational Brigade, Region W. In 2017, he commanded the Eastern Sector of the United Nations Mission in Lebanon.

He is in possession, among other decorations and recognitions, of the Grand Cross of Military Merit, the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Herménégille, the Order of Merit of the Lebanese Republic and eight Crosses of Merit Military, Cross of Merit of the Civil Guard and Cross of Police Merit.
