Bulgaria and Norway have launched an investigation into the bombing of pagers used by Hezbollah in Lebanon.

According to Bulgarian media, the shipment of explosive-filled pagers was financed through the Bulgarian company Norta Global Ltd, based in Sofia. Hezbollah reportedly paid the Hungarian company BAC 1.6 million euros for the supply of the devices. These funds passed through Bulgaria and were then transferred to Hungary, attracting the attention of law enforcement agencies.
Norta is registered in a residential building in the Bulgarian capital, where 200 other companies are also registered. The founder of the company, Rinson Jose, who lives in Norway, refused to comment on the situation linking his company to the supply of pagers to Hezbollah. When he tried to get an explanation, he cut off the telephone conversation.
The investigation, launched in Bulgaria and Norway, aims to clarify the role played by companies from these countries in international transactions and the possible transfer of equipment used in terrorist activities.
The Taiwanese firm, which lends its name to Hungarian electronics company BAC, says none of the pager’s parts were made in Taiwan, distancing itself from that supply chain.
Lebanese authorities also carried out a preliminary investigation, the results of which indicate that the pagers were equipped with explosives before they reached Lebanon. These findings were conveyed to the UN Security Council as part of an official letter from the Lebanese mission to the United Nations, highlighting the international nature of the problem and the need for an in-depth study of all parts of the supply chain.
Earlier, Kursor reported that militants spent a significant amount of money on a batch of pagers, which were then exploited by Hezbollah terrorists.
