Actor and director Daniel Fanego dies at 69

The world of Argentine cinema is in mourning. The actor and director Daniel Fanego He died this Thursday at the age of 69, as the Argentine Association of Actors and Actresses (an entity to which he belonged) laments. 47 years ago.

During his professional phase, Fanego passed through Spain working on titles like ‘Akelarre” (Pablo Aguero), “catch a thief‘ (Javier Olivares and Pablo Vásquez) and ‘Atraco’ (Eduard Cortés). Before cinema, he fell in love with theater after dedicating himself to law.

He made his theatre debut in 1977 with the play The Anatomy Lesson. Throughout his career he participated in numerous works such as Porteños, The Three Sisters, Camille, Twelve Men in Combat, Open Couple, Medea, The Misanthrope, Pigmalion, Flight to Capistrano, Letters from the Absent and The Lion in Winter, Modestamente. Fanego, among others, highlights the aforementioned source.

In cinema, he has worked on Argentine projects such as ‘Betibú’, ‘El Ángel’, ‘Luna de Avellaneda’, ‘Desde el abismo’, ‘Accusada’, ‘Eva no dormem’, ‘Akelarre’, ‘El mundo contra mí’, ‘Laurita’s loves’, ‘The clouds’, ‘The punk professor’, ‘We all have a plan’ and ‘El Fausto criollo’.

In March 2022, he received recognition from the Film Academy with the Gold Medal.
