Arrested for opening a colleague’s head with a pickaxe in Valladolid

The National Police arrested a man in Valladolid (without indication of nationality or age) as the perpetrator of an attempted murder crime.

The events occurred on Tuesday morning, 17, in a central park in Valladolid, specifically in the Isabel la Católica neighborhood, when an argument began between two workers on a project related to the bike path.

Without warning, the inmate hit the other worker in the head with a pickaxe, causing him to collapse and fall to the ground, in front of other colleagues.

At that point, the attacker raised his pickaxe with the intention of hitting the victim again, who was defenseless on the ground, but a colleague intervened and managed to immobilize the prisoner.

The construction workers called the health services and CIMACC room 091, who dispatched a police team.

A uniformed patrol of the National Police immediately arrived at the scene, where the officers, seeing the seriousness of the victim’s head injury and the tool used, immediately proceeded to arrest the aggressor.

The victim was assisted by health services, who reinforced an emergency bandage applied to contain significant bleeding to the head.

And then they transferred him to the clinical hospital, where many stitches were applied to close the wound.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, who ordered his release with indictment pending trial.
