The PP has returned to its usual tactic in the disasters it causes: lying and blaming others. The “reconstruction” begins with a “handmade” contract worth 3.9 million euros with a construction company from Gürtel. We can’t stand this dirty politics anymore. We are all exhausted.
The most terrible thing is that 219 people died and there are still some whose names are not included on the list of missing people. And 3,000 other people benefited from work stoppage following DANA and benefit from special Social Security protection. More than 75,000 homes have been damaged, some expected to be demolished, 100,000 cars destroyed and 2,500 hectares of agriculture and other businesses and livelihoods destroyed. And the amount of dirt thrown by the PP on such a record – which could have been less tragic in terms of human lives if they had warned citizens in time. Neither President Carlos Mazón – absent for the crucial five and a half hours – nor any of the members of his team who were waiting idly for him did so in time when the waters were already flooding the cities.
And what’s more, faced with this immense fiasco, this tragedy, the entire PP has returned to its usual tactic in the disasters it causes: openly lying and blaming others. Even at the UEM whose performance was decisive even before the Valencian government lifted a finger.
And as if that were not enough, President Mazón, well anchored in his position, even if thousands of Valencians are demanding his resignation, has begun the work of “reconstruction”, beginning, without any shame, by granting him a “handmade” contract of 3.9 million euros to Becsa SA, a construction company which admitted before the National Court to being one of the businessmen involved in Fund B of the PP in Gürtel. And another at the company where his chief of staff worked. And two others, for an additional four million, to two companies found guilty of financing the PP in the Gürtel, as we learned on Tuesday evening. Everything stays at home. According to custom, great misfortunes are like a shower of good things for the families and friends of the leaders of the PP. He also appointed a lieutenant general, experienced in the wars in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Afghanistan, to the post of “vice president for reconstruction”. Carlos Mazón has had a somewhat unusual behavior since DANA. Where are the ups and downs of Genoa.
There was too much rain for what happened in Valencia to go unpunished once again. Hours of television turned millions of people, in Spain and elsewhere, into witnesses to the truth of what happened. Their miserable propaganda media that try to sow doubt, with headlines that shame the very spirit of journalism and human decency, are no longer worth it. There are those who apparently believe them: those removed which they share with the extreme right. Just like a large part of those who supported Trump in his dislocation government.
The Popular Party has fallen these days into the deepest abysses of ignominy. During the week, someone thought, out of the blue, that they could try carry the dead – textually – to the Spanish Teresa Ribera as minister responsible for the Hydrographic Confederations – who They worked perfectly in their role.– and prevent her appointment to the post of vice-president of the European Commission. It is a relevant position and we already know where the PP places its patriotism: very close to the portfolio, which ends up being its main motivation. It was a pure embarrassment. See appear on a news program Cuca Gamarra or Tellado or Dolors Monserrat speaking of their unsuitability for this position, it is as if an association of healers allowed itself to denigrate a Nobel Prize in medicine.
Once the victim is found and according to custom, the PP and its media terminals grab them in the mouth and do not let go. She is a very prestigious professional and quoted in international media. But that didn’t matter to the PP, who continued to increase the ball.
If Mazón is pathetic in his lies, listening to Feijóo chills the blood. Unwavering, he lies and accuses. It takes great immodesty to reproach the government for its “obvious indolence” while its man from Valencia was partying, drinking a drink and a cigar of euphoria (as appreciated by the mayor of Cullera in the unusual call that he received from Mazón). There are, let us emphasize, 219 deaths, and sick people, and irrecoverable human losses. What audacity. People like that are capable of anything. In fact, we’ve seen it before. Aznar with 11 million deaths, Ayuso with the condemnation of 7,291 elderly people to die by asphyxiation and alone. Some are beginning to understand that approving these atrocities over and over again only serves to repeat them and that one day it may be their turn or that of their family.
THE manifest indolence This was and is that of the PP, except to deploy its dirty hunts. The straw that broke the camel’s back was transferring the battle to stay alive to Brussels, even if it involves pain and death in Valencia. They have a colleague of the same ilk in the presidency of the EPP group. The German Manfred Weber, from the conservative Christian Social Union, represented only in Bavaria.
The contact has been worked on over the many years that MEP Dolors Monserrat has been there. Manfred Weber wanted the position of Von der Leyen – of the CDU, a much more powerful party – and, together with the Spanish People’s Party, they saw an opportunity to destroy the Commission, under the pretext of Teresa Ribera. Weber doesn’t have the biggest objection to allying himself with the far right, although the current president doesn’t reject them outright either, but there is a difference. In fact, Meloni has already been likened to a good fascist and European socialists are willing to call on an Italian commissioner to unblock the situation. And that is how it seems to be, leaving one more stain on the account of the Spanish PP.
The EU, however, is dwelling on these things when it needs them most, in the face of expected invective from Trump’s United States. And like the famous butterfly whose beating of wings causes cyclones far beyond, Mazón’s food, the very incompetence of his government, the shamelessness of Feijóo and the network woven in Europe by the least edifying popular people have was on the verge of destroying the Commission as well. Bad precedent for the future.
You can’t let all this go. The elegance of the forms of marrulleros of this caliber is a costly mistake. With Teresa Ribera, Pedro Sánchez, Begoña Gómez, we are all sold. The government’s inability to act against similar practices directed against Pablo Iglesias and Irene Montero has now been paid for. Right now they are infinitely bigger, and the pieces are big game to overthrow the government and leave it in these rotten hands. It is not clear – or yes – where these tactics of the organization to which the PP belongs as a visible leader disguised as a political party end up.
We can no longer stand this dirty politics, these media which degrade journalism, this part of justice which acts alone, all with the same objective. Look at the United States and what’s coming. Have a minimum vision of the immediate future to realize what is happening in Europe. Spain was an exception and everything is absurd, look, it’s not just a government matter, it’s everyone’s business. Fix it.
